Where is the full guide?
The Nebula help pages cover every window in the app: music and radio, the visual Elements and their knobs, layers, patching, scenes and settings, plus the Mac, accessibility and troubleshooting. In the app, open Settings › Help › Help on the web.
How do I add my own music?
Tap Add songs on the start screen, or Add songs in Music › Songs. Nebula keeps its own copy, so the song plays even if you move the original.
What does Nebula Pro add?
Nebula is free to use with your music, radio, Indie, Nebula music, the microphone, every visual element (with its key knobs), 2 layers, 3 cables, 3 scenes of your own and a set of ready-made scenes. Nebula Pro is a one-time In-App Purchase that opens the rest: unlimited layers, every knob, all blend modes, unlimited cables from every source and unlimited saved scenes. It costs $5.99 once, with no subscription. If you bought it on another device with the same Apple Account, use Restore purchases in Settings › Nebula Pro.
Why does radio take a few seconds to start?
Nebula plays radio slightly behind the station so it can hear ahead and get ready for builds and drops. Choose the wait in Settings › Playback › Radio buffer: 2 s starts fastest, 10 s (the default) also catches sections and drops, 20 s is the most reliable. You can always tap Play now to skip the wait.
Why don't I see talk or news stations?
Nebula is made for music, so stations that are mainly talk, news or sport are left out of the lists.
What is Song memory?
When you hear a song for a minute or more, Nebula keeps a small summary of its rhythm and structure (no audio), so the next time it plays the visuals are ready from the first second. It's capped at 3 MB on your device, and you can clear it any time in Settings › Playback › Song memory › Forget all.
The visuals don't react to the microphone.
Check that Nebula has microphone access: on iPhone and iPad in Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone, on Mac in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone.
How does the parental lock work?
In Settings › Parental Lock, tap Turn on lock. A grown-up turns it on and unlocks it with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode, so keep the passcode to yourself. While it's on, Radio and Indie play only the stations and tracks you've saved. (Earlier versions also offered a separate Nebula PIN; a lock set with one now unlocks with the device's own check.)
Can my child delete Nebula to get around the lock?
You can stop that on iPhone and iPad: Settings › Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions › App Store Purchases › Deleting Apps › Don't Allow.
Does Nebula work offline?
Yes, for your own music and for Nebula songs you kept with the star. Radio, Indie and the Nebula list need an internet connection.
Something isn't working. What do I try?
See Troubleshooting: no sound, radio that won't play, stuttering visuals, microphone and Mac audio permission, purchases and imports.
Does Nebula work with VoiceOver and larger text?
Yes, in part. See Accessibility for what it does today, including Calmer flashes for people sensitive to flashing light.
